ITP Renewables was contracted by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) to model, design, and specify a large PV and battery storage system to power the Murchison Radioastronomy Observatory in Western Australia. The site has very strict radiofrequency emissions requirements, which affects the design of any electrical equipment being installed.
The work includes:
- Modelling and technical/financial optimisation of PV and battery system
- Design of integration topology with existing diesel power station
- Drafting of tender specifications for both systems
- Advice on commercial arrangements with power station operator.
